Budget Talk

I recently stumbled upon this article that gives tips on budgeting the whole affair.  I really liked how it said that when picking priorities, always do what is best for the guests first. It seems that is so the opposite of American wedding plans nowadays...

gorgeous veil

I found this great veil on etsy...PERFECT balance of vintage and modern. Check out all views and more info here.

Inspirational Wedding

Click here to see a wedding that I loved.  It's simple and rustic, but has a lot of class and romance and was done for under $10K.  I was originally drawn to it because the bridal attire was similar to what our Creede bride has expressed wanting.  Her dress can be found for only $189 at this website.  And she made her own veil & hairpiece.

Adorable programs

I keep finding these AMAZING little touches that are making my head spin. This one is gorgeous: DIY programs. The ones pictures look like lace, but it's not actually a lace fabric. The full instructions (they don't look all that complicated, really) can be found here.
How cool would it be to use an antique-looking ivory lace (similar to lace on bride's gown) on top of a more natural-looking brown fabric (like the one pictured) and then use ribbons in the accent colors?  Wow.  This would be a great keepsake and it would fit the chapel oh so well.

Leaf boutonniere

If trying to cut floral costs or simply looking for something manly and country-feeling, this leaf boutonniere is adorable. Again, we found the DIY directions online (click here).

Ring Bearer Book

Instead of using a pillow that has fake rings, what about dressing up a cool old copy of a book of poetry from which a significant person can read a love poem during the ceremony.  Alternatively, you could use an old family Bible and have it used for a reading. Once Wed has the DIY instructions on how to decorate it.

Another cute invite (idea #2)

This is a cute one. It gives the country feel and uses the wedding colors.

Cute Invitation idea #1

This invitation from InviteSite is a great inspiration for an invitation that could be created by the bride herself. Using simple brown Kraft paper as the outer wrapper sets the tone both in color and rustic simplicity. A curvy script font in bright blue (or whatever) on a crisp ivory paper insert would be gorgeous, perhaps with a sepia tone picture of the engaged couple standing in from of a Creede, CO sign or in a field in the San Luis Valley like this one would be awesome.

Fun sign

A sign like this one would be great to set at the entrance of the cabin since the turn is hard to see.  The weekend events will kick off with a "Meet and Greet" evening at the cabin complete with BBQ and campfire.

For the kiddos:

When there will be guests of all ages at a destination wedding such as this one, it's a great idea to have fun things to help keep the kids entertained.  One couple created these wedding-themed coloring books in their wedding colors. Cute.
